3. A person in whose name Eupolis exhibited his comedy Αὐτόλυκος
. (Ath. v. p. 216d.)
He is ranked among the poets of the new comedy on the authority of Suidas (s. v. χάραξ
, Δημόστρατος Δημοποιἤτῳ
) : but here we ought probably to read Τιμόστρατος
, who is known as a poet of the new comedy. [TIMOSTRATUS.] (Meineke, Frag. Com. Graec.
i. pp. 110, 500.)
