Hermo'nymus, Geo'rgius

Γεώργιος Ἑρμώνυμος), a Byzantine scholar who contributed much to the revival of Greek learning in Italy, where he fled after the conquest of Constantinople, but whose literary activity became only conspicuous king in the time after that event. (Fabric. Bibl. Graec. vol. xi. p. 635.)
