Homoloeus

Ὁμολωεύς), a son of Amphion, from whom the Homoloian gate of Thebes was believed to have derived its name. (Schol. ad Eurip. Phoen. 1126.) Others, however, derived the name of the gate from the hill Homole, or from Homolois, a daughter of Niobe. (Paus. 9.8.3; Schol. ad Eurip. l.c. ; Tzetz., ad Lycoph. 520.)
