1. Of Cumae.


A History of Persia

He was the author of a history of Persia (Περσικά), a portion of which bore the special title of παρασκευαστικά, and, to judge from the quotations from it, contained an account of the mode of life of the kings of Persia. (Athen. 4.145, xii. p. 117 ; comp. ii. p. 48.) According to Diogenes Laertius (5.94), the Persica consisted of five books.
