Ia'lmenus

*)Ia/lmenos), a son of Ares and Astyoche, and brother of Ascalaphus of the Boeotian Orchomenos. (Hom. Il. 2.512, &c.) Others call him an Argive and a son of Lycus and Pernis (Hyg. Fab. 97, 159), and mention him among the Argonauts (Apollod. 1.9.16) and the suitors of Helena. (Apollod. 3.10.8; Paus. 9.37, in fin.) After the destruction of Troy, he is said to have wandered about with the Orchomenians on the Pontus, and to have founded colonies on the coast of Colchis.
