At the period of the invasion of Greece by Xerxes, seven citizens of Chios conspired against Strattis, but the plot was revealed by one of their number, and the remaining six were obliged to seek safety in flight. They first applied for aid to Sparta, whence they proceeded to the Greek fleet, under the command of Leotychides, at Aegina, B.
