A Review at Fort Sumter.--Last Friday was a bright and balmy October day, and General Ripley by appointment went down to review the garrison at Fort Sumter, consisting of the First regiment of South-Carolina artillery.
A large number of ladies were present.
The General looked us fine as a fiddle, and performed his part with style and expedition.
The splendid corps at the post appeared to great advantage before their original and honored commander.
The excellent band added much to the occasion.
After the exercises on the parade a ten-inch columbiad was fired

for the benefit of the ladies, and also a casemate gun. After a luncheon the visitors retired in a state of decided gratification.--Charleston Mercury, Nov. 4.
