Kip, William Ingraham 1811-1893

Clergyman; born in New York City, Oct. 3, 1811; graduated at Yale College in 1831, and later at the General Theological Seminary; was ordained in the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1835; elected bishop of California in 1857. He was the author of Early Jesuit missions in America; The Olden time in New York, etc. He died in San Francisco, Cal., April 7, 1893.
