I have intimated as the result of ignoring the method of creation and growth adopted by the Second Massachusetts Regiment.
It remains to show how magnificent and wellappointed armies of thoughtful men were being formed out of the chaotic masses, that no longer clamored to be led onward to Richmond, but, like well-disciplined troops, with confidence in their leaders, awaited the hour of action.
