[200] Stephens died in the service. Capt. George E. Brewer, senior captain, was in command during the greater part of the existence of the regiment.

The field officers were Col. Mike L. Woods, Lieut.-Col. O. Kyle and Maj. James M. Handley, all of whom were captured at Baker's creek.
