The Spell of the woods.

When we recall the stately woods
Where nature's silence reigns,
Where peace broods over all the land,
And stills within our veins
The bounding blood beats of our varying moods;
Then memories drift across the years,
A vision of the silent past appears,
And dreamy music, like a slumber song,
Within the heart old melodies prolong,
And pictures mirrored long ago
Come back again and brightly glow;
While o'er us steals the mystic sense,
Born of the wild wood's deep content;
In memory's treasured garden spot
We choose the flower, forget-me-not.
