Mr. Platt's lecture.

Rev. Mr. Platt, of Petersburg, lectures before the Young Men's Christian Association to-night. Subject, "Energy." Mr. Platt is a gentleman of fine oratorical and scholarly abilities, and a clergyman deservedly esteemed and respected for the faithful and zealous discharge of his pastoral duties and his able pulpit ministrations. Whether serving his country in the field, or at the bar where he formerly held the elevated position of Attorney General, or in the pulpit, for which he relinquished worldly prospects and honors, he presents in himself a fine illustration of the value of the quality upon which he will speak to-night. We invoke for him a crowded house, and a brilliant inauguration of the lecture season of the Christian Association.
