--The Jacksonville (ill.) Journal states that a pair of fond lovers attempted to elope from that neighborhood a few nights since; but the young lady having forgotten her shawl, on returning to get it was caught by her incensed mother and tied to the bed-post for the next twelve hours. The loving swain, after waiting out of doors until he was tired, went off alone and disconsolate.
