A working men's meeting in Alexandria, Va., Monday night, broke up in a row, with cheers for the Union and groans for South Carolina.

The sum of $500 has been subscribed in Monroe county, Va., to arm the military.

Col. Braxton Bragg, of a "little more grape" celebrity, and Capt. J. K. Duncan and J. M. Taylor have been selected by the Governor of Louisiana as his aids-de-camp.

The Louisiana Legislature has instructed its delegates in Congress to retire.

The theatrical corps at the Varieties theatre, in New Orleans, has formed itself into a military company. Jno. E. Owens is Captain; George Jordan, 1st Lieutenant; and Mark Smith, 2d Lieutenant. A. H. Davenport is 21 Sergeant. M'lle. Frances is the vivandiere of the Company.

Joel E. Matthews, of Dallas county, Ala., has offered the services of 200 negroes to the Governor of Alabama. In addition to this, the same gentleman deposited in the Bank of Mobile on the 23d of January, $15,000 to the credit of Alabama for State defence.
