The resignation of Col. Hardee.

--The Savannah (Ga.) Republican announces as a positive fact that Lieutenant Colonel Wm. J. Hardee, of the United States army, an officer distinguished in the military service, and as an author; and for some years past Commandant of the Cadets at West Point, has resigned his commission. Col. Hardee is a Georgian, and has retired as an act of fidelity to his native State.
