Public spirit.

It is gratifying to observe the true patriotic fervor that animates the hearts of the people. The artisan sees the true interests of Virginia to be with the Southern States, who alone give encouragement to Richmond manufactures — the real estate holder sees that his wealth depends upon a Southern Commercial Union--all see that Virginia must secure her rights and those of her sister Southern States in the Union, or she must go out along with them.--All see that interest, right, honor, demand this. We believe these sentiments to actuate all classes; and none more unanimously and heartily than our glorious young men — who have themselves soon to bear the burthens of society and direct public affairs. They love liberty, and will not submit to humiliation or dishonor to secure peace. All honor to the young men of Richmond!
