Fayette Artillery.
--This "ancient and honorable" artillery company will, we understand, to-day give unmistakable evidence of that vitality which has ever characterized it. It has always fallen to the lot of the company to do all the hard work of the volunteer soldier, in the way of firing salutes, &c., and they will again, at daybreak this morning, welcome in
Washington's birthday with the thunder of their trusty field-pieces.
The company, in the absence of
Capt. Cabell, will be in charge of
Lieut. M. C. Macon.
Each of the cannon are to be drawn by four horses, and the battery will no doubt be fully manned, and present a fine appearance.
At 2 o'clock, the Artillery musters with the 1st Regiment.
