Singular Horsewhipping Case in England, The Rev. J. Sumner Brockhurst, of Emmanuel College, England, horsewhipped the Rev. Edward Dodd, Fellow of Magdalen College and Vicar of St. Giles', Cambridge, because he had omitted from the grace the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and had said when asked for his reason, that it was on account of the presence of a Jew at the table.
