The streets.

--The unusual quantity of rain which has fallen during the winter, has caused the unpaved streets in our city to be badly cut up and put in a muddy state; but the weather for the past ten days has been so fine, that the Superintendent has been able to cause many repairs to be made, and they are now presenting a much better appearance, and are rendered quite passable. Mud turnpikes do not answer for a city, and our principal streets should be paved as soon as practicable.
