Betrothal of the Sultan's daughter.

--On Saturday Haski Bey, first Secretary of the Sultan, proceeded to the Porte with an Imperial hatti, announcing that his Imperial Majesty had been pleased to choose as husband for his daughter Munire Sultana. Abraham Pasha, son of Riza Pasha. On Sunday the betrothal took place in the palace of the Sultana. The marriage ceremony, on account of the Sultana being a widow, will not be celebrated on Thursday, as usual, but on Monday. The bridal presents are of unusual costliness and beauty. They include a magnificent diadem in diamonds, valued at upwards of 4,000,000 plasters. A necklace, fan, and ring set in the same kind of stone; presents of great value have also been given to other members of the Imperial household. The Hasnedar Usta has received six magnificent Indian shawls.-- Levant Herald, 23d Jan
