--Tom, slave of James Halsey, was carried before the Mayor yesterday, to be tried on the charge of purloining two umbrellas from Wm. T. Moore. It will be remembered that the latter was arrested and brought before the Hustings Court, on the charge of feloniously shooting the negro in question. The Court dismissed the charge. The accused was too sick yesterday from his wounds to stand an examination, or receive punishment if guilty, and he was sent back home ‘"for a more convenient season."’
