Col. Preston's opinion.

--Col. John S. Preston, Commissioner from South Carolina to Virginia, has returned home, as we learn from the Columbia Guardian. It is his opinion that the Virginia Convention will not, at present, take any action — at least the one now in session. It is anti-coercion, and will prevent war on the seceded States, if possible; but more prompt and decisive action need not now be looked for.
