--Under this head the New York papers inform their readers that a match between Rosie, of Brooklyn, and Bess, of Liverpool, England — the "champion dogs of the world"--was fought in Brooklyn on Tuesday evening, for $250 a side.
Ten thousand dollars, it is stated, changed hands on the match.
Bess won in thirty minutes. There were about one thousand spectators present.
