The transfer of guns.

--A letter was received from Washington, yesterday, by Col. A. M. Barbour, of Jefferson, informing him that Dr. Junius L. Archer has been directed not to remove the guns from the Bellona Foundry at present. ‘"The movement was commenced,"’ says the letter, ‘"in order that two citizens of Virginia might receive their dues from the United States, and as the contract was completed, it seemed a fitting time to send forward the guns."’ We publish this as an item of news, without comment, presuming it will have its due weight in quieting the excitement in the public mind.
