A communication from the Senate announced the passage, at its morning session, of a number of bills, all of which were read the requisite number of times and passed.

House bills were passed: Increasing the compensation of the
Commissioners of the Revenue for the counties of
Braxton,
Nicholas,
Fayette and
Logan — ayes 78, noes I; allowing $500 to each of the
Commissioners who audited the
Harper's Ferry claims — ayes 78, noes none; authorizing the payment of $147,75 to
Capt. Wm. H. Worth, of Company A, of the 101st Regiment Virginia Militia--ayes 77, noes none.
House bill refunding to
Wm. H. Morton, Jr., a sum of money paid on an erroneous assessment of land, was defeated for want of a constitutional majority.
