Night session.

The House was called to order at 7½ o'clock by the Steaker.

A communication from the Senate announced the passage, at its morning session, of a number of bills, all of which were read the requisite number of times and passed. [For list of titles, see Senate proceedings.]

The following House bills were passed: Increasing the compensation of the Commissioners of the Revenue for the counties of Braxton, Nicholas, Fayette and Logan — ayes 78, noes I; allowing $500 to each of the Commissioners who audited the Harper's Ferry claims — ayes 78, noes none; authorizing the payment of $147,75 to Capt. Wm. H. Worth, of Company A, of the 101st Regiment Virginia Militia--ayes 77, noes none.

House bill refunding to Wm. H. Morton, Jr., a sum of money paid on an erroneous assessment of land, was defeated for want of a constitutional majority.
