Yesterday was a cold, rainy, cheerless day, one such as we have often experienced lately, but which, nevertheless, is nowise in keeping with the season. The ‘"droppings from heaven's unbounded blue"’ came so thick and fast that locomotion, in a great degree, was suspended, save by those who were urged by the ‘"promptings of a stern necessity."’ The churches were very thinly attended.
