Some of the Northern journals give currency to a report that John Brown's son is enlisting Negroes for the war. If they land on Southern soil they will find it difficult to get off again. Peter Erben, who died lately in New York, was organist at Trinity Church for half a century. Capt. Jones, U. S. Army, who lately commanded at Harper's Ferry, is a son of the late Gen. Roger Jones, of this State. The exercises at the Episcopal Theological Seminary, near Alexandria, have ceased for the present, and that institution been closed. The corporation of Washington has ordered the issue of notes of the corporation for the redemption of certain guaranteed bonds.
