Senator Bayard.

Philadelphia.May 7.--Senator Bayard, of Delaware, arrived in this city this morning, having left Wilmington, fearing an assault upon his person. He was accompanied by two of his daughters. A mob followed him from the depot, when finally the police managed to remove Mr. B. from danger unnoticed by the crowd. After staying a short time at the Mayor's office, he left in a private carriage.

Mr. Bayard denied having been lately at Montgomery, but had been to New Orleans on private business.
