Stray soldiers.

--Whenever any of the commanding officers of regiments desire to reclaim any of their men known to be in the city without leave, they can easily do so by sending a file of men to take him if found, and on application to the Mayor they will be aided in the search by the civil authorities. On sundry occasions it has happened that parties falsely claiming to be soldiers have demanded of citizens articles, accompanied by threats that they would be taken if not yielded peacefully. No such persons are soldiers or gentlemen, and if detected would no doubt be placed in the chain gang.
