Swindling the Government

--The Boston Journal complains bitterly of the dishonesty of some of the army contractors. It says:

‘ "Much of the cloth which has been furnished for clothing our troops is of the poorest quality, and when wet the garments shrink so that they no longer fit. It is not uncommon to see volunteers in our streets with coats and pantaloons, the arms and legs of which are ridiculously short. They were not originally misfits, but a single shower did the mischief. Shoddy and cotton will not answer for camp service"
