Complained of.

--A row of houses in rear of the Exchange Hotel, occupied by parties of a lubious and uncertain character, is the prolific source of many a disgraceful row which the police have been called on to quell. The testimony given in a case before the Mayor Tuesday, proved the houses alluded to to contain many nests of vile and unclean birds. The Mayor intimated his intention of having the houses cleaned of their present occupants, which would be a very good thing, so far as the moral atmosphere of that part of the city is concerned. Parties who may have occasion to walk by the locality will see that the occupants themselves have a well-grounded apprehension of the dangers which beset them, having boarded up all of their accessible doors and windows, thus preparing for miniature bombardments.
