--The Charleston Courier, of Thursday, says:
By a letter received in this city yesterday, we learn that a great reaction has taken place among the monied men of New York and Boston
, and that petitions are now circulating to be laid before Congress, asking the peaceful recognition of the Southern Confederacy, and the establishment of amicable relations by friendly treaties.
The positions set forth that unless the war is brought to a close very speedily, New York and Boston
are ruined cities.
