W. D. Totty

--We are reliably informed that there will be no Executive interference in regard to the case of W. D. Totty, and he will therefore be hanged, in conformity with his sentence, between the hours of 12 and 2 tomorrow. While there is a manifest sympathy for the unfortunate man and his relatives, it is generally conceded that the demands of justice cannot be opposed. This miserable fate is attributable in a great degree to the influence of evil associations and strong drink. It presents a warning to others to shun the danger. The execution will probably take place in the valley, beyond Victor's old mill.
