More Wharfage.
--The President and Directors of the
James River and Kanawha Company have in contemplation the building of a new wharf, on the south margin of the dock, near 25th street, and the erection of a wrought iron pivot bridge, to give greater facilities to loading and unloading vessels.
So easily can the dock be spanned by the light, yet substantial bridges, that they might be thrown over the dock and canal at more than a dozen points, and thus increase its business, by bringing into use all available space.
Not only the
President, but the
Principal Engineer, have satisfied themselves as to the real value of iron bridges, and are not likely to erect any other kind when they can get the best.
