Vigilant.
--The citizens of King William,
New Kent and
Hanover counties, or rather a portion of them, are to meet at the Old Church to-day, to take proper action in regard to the state of the country.
Some of the canting down-easters, now getting wood on the
Pamunkey and
Mattaponi, and who have been too free in promulgating their peculiar doctrines, would do well to mount a "saw log" and make for their ice bound homes with as little delay as possible.
The people of the country are going to stand no further interference with their institutions by meddling sojourners, unless ropes and grape vines become very scarce, and rails and tar disappear altogether.
Let meddlers rake the hint.
