The Louisville Journal says the report of the death of Delazon Smith, of Oregon, is incorrect. It had its origin in a paper politically opposed to him speaking of him as dead--in a political sense. Duke Paul, of Wurtemburg, a prince more famous for his travels in all quarters of the globe than for any of the usual avocations of princely life, has just died at Mergenthelm, in the 64th year of his age. A little daughter of Mr. A. Evans, of Garrisonville, Stafford county, Va., was fatally burned a few days ago by her clothing taking fire. She was three years of age. Mr. Thomas Wood has been elected to the Virginia Legislature from Albemarle county, in place of Wm. Garth, deceased. The Halifax Hotel at Halifax Court-House, Va., has been sold for $3,800 to A. L. Meeks and A. L. Owen. James Gray has been arrested in Baltimore, for robbing Bernet & Co., his employers, at Charleston, S. C., of $700. Hon. B. Y. Martin, a prominent lawyer, and a Douglas elector, died at Columbus, Ga., on the 20th inst. Hon. Howell Cobb has arrived at Macon, and was announced to speak on the 20th.
