Come up to the work.

--Benevolent gentlemen are now engaged in collecting funds to aid the distresses of the needy, and it is very important that those who are applied to should give far more liberally than on ordinary occasions. There is now in our midst a large number of persons who must suffer for the necessaries of life during the winter months, unless assistance is given them, and this assistance can only be afforded by liberal contributions on the part of those who have an abundance and to spare. Those who cannot supply money can give provisions and clothing, and thus relieve the wants of the truly needy.
