--On Monday evening of this week, the wife of one of our citizens, who had lived with her husband for twenty-five years, and until her head had become "silvered o'er with age," eloped with a gay Lothario, who, during most of the past summer, has been stopping at the fashionable boarding-house in this city kept by Sheriff Hammond. The pair took the cars for New York, taking with them the avails of the husband's last cow, some household furniture, and a lad about 15 years of age, who was living in the family. The husband expresses a determination to regain the boy and property taken, but says as regards other matters he is perfectly willing the "old woman" should have her own way.-- Poughkeepsie (N. Y.)
