--or at least many of them — are said to be withdrawing their opposition to the extension of the corporate limits, and some of them are now the warmest friends of the extension.
They see that thickly populated neighborhoods need light and water, and police protection, and that they can get their streets and walkways improved in no other way so easily as by becoming part and parcel of the city.
