Look out for them.

--Recent developments render it certain that there is a large amount of counterfeit money afloat in this vicinity — both notes and coin — and it will be well for everybody to keep a sharp look out to avoid imposition. Among instances that have come to our knowledge, we may mention that at a late hour on Tuesday night, a person attempted to pass a counterfeit $7 note (on the Bank of Charlottesville, we are informed,) at Wheeley's restaurant. An officer of the night police happened to be at hand, and learning the fact, made an effort to arrest the individual, but he gave leg bail and effected his escape. It is to be hoped that the legal investigations now going on will bring to light such full descriptions of the counterfeit money in circulation here as to make its detection an easy matter.
