--Conrad Schliser appeared before the Mayor yesterday to answer a charge of assaulting and beating his wife.
The accused was represented to be most amicably disposed when sober; but when under the influence of liquor his conduct was beyond endurance.
The Mayor required surety in the sum of $150 for his good behavior.
