Since our mention of this subject yesterday, an intelligent gentleman of our city informs us that we are right in the supposition that there are not less than a thousand negroes in this city who could be well engaged at this time.
Our friend says that he himself has ten who could be at once put to work.
We commend the subject to the authorities and citizens.
