From Northwestern Virginia--Northern account.

Buchannon, Va., July 10.
--A Federal reconnoitering party, which ventured too near to the Southern lines, had one of its men killed and two wounded.

Skirmishes during the past two days have been bloody. The Southerners are strongly entrenched. If they make a determined stand, a heavy loss of life is inevitable.

Gen. McClellan was to have attacked them this morning.
