The ladies.

--The cause of the South in its present contest against wrong and attempted oppression, has suffered no detriment because of the lukewarmnes of our wives and daughters. There is no need to go back to the trying days of the first Revolution for instances on their part of hercie self sacrifice and the most untiring devotion to the principles of constitutional liberty and of right and justice.--The present unholy waged by the Northern barbarians against our homes and firesides, have developed the patriotic feelings of all not absolutely soulless, but especially, and in a pre-eminent degree has it enlisted the utmost energies of "God's last, best gift to man."--In this city they have done nobly, and they do not weary of well doing. It is so throughout the entire South.
