Returned to his Master.

--Peter, slave of P. B. Stanard, Captain of the Thomas Artillery, was carried before the Mayor for going about without a pass and having a concealed weapon. The latter he presumed to carry by reason of his connection with the military. To reverse the order of things, he omitted to carry a written evidence of his status as a natural sequence of his military standing. The Mayor recognized neither standing, and ordered Captain Stanard's Peter to be returned to his master.
