Salt.

--Under the operation of the blockade this article is becoming scarce and dear in Eastern Virginia. At the works near hear, we understand, unusual activity prevails — new furnaces have been erected, and a large additional force employed. A very heavy stock of salt is on hand ready for shipment, but at present it is impossible to get it off — the railroad being taxed to its utmost capacity in transporting troops bound to the seat of war.

If our Eastern friends could spare a few trains we have no doubt they would be quickly leaded with a No. 1 article and returned. Abingdon Dem.
