From Gen. Banks' column — a Slight skirmish.

Sandy Hook, Aug. 19.
--On Sunday evening, between 3 and 4 o'clock, a body of 300 Confederate cavalry came down to the landing of the ferry opposite, when two companies of Gordon's 2d Massachusetts Regiment fired, and the Confederates retreated. It is known that two are killed and five wounded. Our men escaped unhurt.

The Confederates are still hovering on the outskirts of Harper's Ferry, watching the movements of the Federal troops.
