An annoying wind swept our streets yesterday, taking up the dust and carrying it into every street passenger's face, as well as into the open doors and windows of all the houses, and playing and pranks with peripatetic crinoline. Oh, for a sprinkling machine, thought we, as the dust blinded us. We hope that our armies, which have suffered so much from wet weather, had the benefit of this drying wind.
