--The Savannah News, of the 9th inst., says:

‘ Deputy Marshal James J. Beasley, of the Confederate Court of Charleston District, desires to return his thanks to Captain Good-win, of the Savannah Police, for his courtesy and prompt assistance in the arrest of the four conspirators of the crew of the privateer Jeff. Davis, in this city, on Saturday night last.

We learn from Mr. Beasley that a conspiracy existed among the passengers and a portion of the crew of the privateer to kill the Captain and officers of the Jeff. Davis, and to take the vessel into the port of New York.--This conspiracy has been disclosed since the return of Capt. Coxetter and crew to Charleston, and proof of the designs of the conspirators established by the affidavit of one of the crew.

It is thought that the conspiracy had some agency in the stranding of the Jeff. Davis on the St. Augustine bar.
