Evangelical Tract Society of Petersburg.
--We have been requested to mention the operations of this useful society, composed of persons of all denominations of Christians, and engaged in supplying our soldiers with religious reading.
This society has already published over sixty different tracts, in editions of several thousand each.
These have been distributed according to the best judgment of the men engaged in the work, and have doubtless been productive of much good.
Rev. C. R. Ross
has been operating under the rules of this society, in Albermarle county and the surrounding country, and has been very industrious.
It is a work of real benevolence in which this society is engaged, and we hope that its success may be commensurate with its merits.
